Yolanda Sálazar is Betty and Hilda's maternal grandmother.
Biography[]
Ignacio and his late wife Rosa raised their daughters to believe that Yolanda was dead. Yolanda had been displeased that her daughter wanted to go from being married to a wealthy landowner to being the spouse of a mere cook. After Rosa and Ignacio emigrated to the U.S. in 1977, Yolanda never saw her daughter again. Yolanda has since developed dementia, so when she met Betty for the first time she thought that her grandaughter was her daughter Rosa. She apologized for her past behavior and tearfully begged for forgiveness.
